Finding Harmony in Festive Frenzy

November 27, 2024 //  by Alana Roach//  Leave a Comment

The holiday season is a magical time filled with joy, laughter, and connection. Yet, it can also feel overwhelming for many as we juggle family gatherings, home, career, and the to-do lists. As someone who believes in the power of balance and self-care (schedule it in for yourself every day!), I’m excited to share my favorite strategies for navigating this beautiful yet busy time with grace and ease.

Mental and Emotional Balance Strategies for Finding Harmony in Festive Frenzy

1. Set Realistic Expectations

  • Embrace Imperfection: Remember that the holidays don’t have to be picture-perfect. Remain flexible and present.
  • Create Flexible Plans: Allow yourself to adapt as needed. Life is unpredictable, and that’s part of the fun.
  • Practice Self-Compassion: Be gentle with yourself. It’s normal to feel a mix of emotions during this season.

2. Establish Emotional Boundaries

  • Say “No” When Needed: Protect your energy by declining events that feel overwhelming or unfulfilling. If you grew up in a home where you felt like you had to walk on eggshells, this will be a practice over time. Saying no can be a very healthy boundary when paired with letting go of what others think about your decision.

As Shakespeare reminds us, “To thine own self be true.”

  • Prioritize Your Well-Being: This goes along with saying no when you mean it and yes when you mean it! Make time for activities that recharge you, whether it’s reading a book or enjoying a quiet cup of tea. I personally love taking epsom salt baths steeped with loving prayers of restoration, clearing & rebalancing. Whatever floats your boat for self-care, do it well and do it often. Learning yourself is a daily journey that deepens over time. Yoga can teach you to really begin and continue to listen to what your mind, body, and spirit are really saying and then responding to that call. Daily morning meditation & mindfulness of just a few moments of your time can support you in setting an intention to prioritize your well-being for that entire day which will positively impact everything and everyone around you.
  • Communicate Openly: Share your needs with loved ones. They’ll appreciate your honesty! Taking extra time to get centered with your self care practices before family gatherings will set you somatically up for success.

3. Maintaining Physical Balance

  • Stick to a Sleep Routine: Aim for consistent sleep schedules to keep your energy levels steady.
  • Mindful Movement & Exercise: Incorporate regular exercise into your day, even if it’s just a brisk walk or a short yoga session. With the internet at most of our fingertips, you can find a yoga or workout video at any time of the day right in the comfort of your own home or find support with a coach or mentor to help you stay on track with this incredibly important facet of your healthy, integrative lifestyle.
  • Mindful Eating: Savor your meals and listen to your body’s hunger cues—enjoy those holiday treats without guilt!
  • Stay Hydrated: Don’t forget to drink plenty of water amidst the festive feasting.

4. Practical Self-Care Techniques

  • Deep Breathing Exercises: Take a moment to breathe deeply whenever you feel stressed; it can work wonders.
  • Daily Mindfulness Practices: Just 10 minutes of mindfulness can help ground you and bring clarity. Check out my meditation on The Insight Timer to try this free 5 minute guided meditation called, “Clear Blue Sky.”
  • Journaling: Write down your thoughts and feelings; it’s a great way to process the holiday hustle.
  • Mind your diet: While indulging is part of the fun, moderation can help you feel your best. Drink plenty of water and eat/drink high quality and organic foods whenever possible. I also love to infuse all of my meals with intentional prayer and positive energy, giving thanks to every single bit of what I am consuming

5. Balanced Holiday Planning

  • Create a Budget: Plan your spending ahead of time to avoid financial stress.
  • Thoughtful Gift Giving: Consider meaningful gifts that reflect your loved ones’ personalities rather than going for quantity.
  • Potluck Gatherings: Host gatherings where everyone contributes a dish—this not only saves money but also fosters community and shared energy investment.
  • Travel Wisely: If you are traveling during this holiday season, take a look at the week as a whole. Be mindful of your schedule on the days surrounding your trip to ensure you conserve energy as needed for the event ahead. I suggest practicing mindfulness (yoga, meditation, nature walk, etc.) the morning of to support your nervous system to best handle any stress that may be ahead.

6. Spiritual and Personal Renewal & Reconnecting with Yourself

  • Practice Gratitude: Take time each day to reflect on what you’re thankful for; it shifts your focus toward positivity.
  • Set Gentle Intentions: Rather than rigid resolutions, think about what you want to cultivate in the coming year.
  • Embrace Imperfection: Allow yourself to enjoy the season without the pressure of perfection.

7. Create a Support Network

  • Lean on Your Tribe: Surround yourself with supportive friends and family who uplift you. Share your feelings and experiences; sometimes, just talking it out can ease the holiday pressure. Learn more about our Integrative Leadership Community & InnerCircle.biz membership to join an elevated network of executives and leaders on a mission to foster community worldwide.
  • Join Community Events: Engage in local activities or volunteer opportunities to connect with others and spread kindness during this time. Check out this 80 Year Long Harvard Study that proves community interaction improves mental well-being.

Balance isn’t about achieving perfection; it’s about navigating life’s beautiful complexities with intention and kindness. This holiday season, prioritize what truly matters—connection, joy, and self-care.

Wishing you peace, laughter, and authentic moments this festive season

Warmly,
Alana Roach

35 Ways to Self-Sooth During this Holiday Season

November 27, 2020 //  by Alana Roach//  Leave a Comment

Hello EOS Community,

I hope that you had an amazing Thanksgiving despite our collective challenges with the current climate. For most of us this holiday was incredibly different. Embracing change can feel extra challenging when it’s thrust upon us. However, if we accept the moment for being exactly as it is for a very good reason, then we can not only find the lesson, but also find the treasure.

I spent last year’s Thanksgiving in the deserts of California with my daughter and some good friends, which was a first. It was incredible! Years ago when I was living in Costa Rica, I spent Thanksgiving eating rice and beans. Also, amazing. This year I got to spend Thanksgiving with my close family. What a gift. I have also lost a close friend and family member around this holiday, spending Thanksgiving Day grieving and tending to the heart. I can only imagine what your holiday memories have been like over a lifetime. Life is ever changing… People, places, and things come and go.

I have been very blessed to to be able to know that Divine grace is within me and all around me (And my loved ones) during all moments along this path. I have especially been aware of it over the last decade or so because of mindfulness practices being integrated into my daily lifestyle. I went from needing to know every single detail of my future (Which is impossible) to letting go more and more because I knew that God had a better and bigger plan for me. My faith has felt imperfect at times. I’m human. I get caught up in fear and patterns from time to time, but what I have noticed is that because of my unrelenting commitment to fulfilling my divine purpose on this planet for God has made all of my life a work of art leading to a miraculous destination that is right…now…. and right now we are connected to Divine, the only thing that is unchanging, which is the essential Truth of who and what we truly ARE and always have been. So, in that way, it’s ALL been perfect.

Right now you’re walking your path and you are held by God right where you are. If you feel that this year has been one big derail for you, let’s help ourselves by witnessing Divine grace within it. How can we find gratitude, forgiveness, and joy for this year? How can we accept people, places, and things for being exactly as they are while allowing ourselves to be transformed by our willingness to let go. How are we becoming stronger, stiller, confident, kinder, more faithful, more giving, appreciative, forgiving, compassionate, loving,  free-flowing, less ego-ic, less defined by our surroundings, more defined by our inner character that is forever blossoming and changing when prompted by something being stripped away? Pay attention to those things, because that is what keeps you going and GROWING.

So, my friends, where ever you are personally on your path right now, stay humble, stay excited, stay curious, and stay faithful. The best is yet to come.

If you find yourself feeling a little low during this holiday season, take some time to self-sooth. You’ve been through a lot this year. Give yourself a pat on the back. Know that you are loved and that everything will be ok.

10 Self-Care Tips for World Mental Health Day

October 10, 2020 //  by Alana Roach//  Leave a Comment

My inner state of being and life was transformed ever since I started a regular mindfulness practice in 2009. One of the reasons I started teaching yoga and meditation in 2011 is because it helped me so much with my own anxiety. I remember feeling wound up prior to entering the studio and then basically floating out of my first heated vinyasa class at 23, knowing that I had found something important, not just for me, but for anyone who was willing to allow me to share it with them. It was a practice I folded into my life on regular basis and in conjunction with my prayer & meditation practice it began to open doors for me in my own personal mental health and wellness journey that I didn’t even fathom was possible until then.

The thing is, it opened the door to more self-love, self-care, and a deep desire to explore the deep connection to Divine that I was experiencing through these mindfulness practices, or what some mystics call the higher Self. This is how Explorations of Self was born. It was birthed from my own journey healing and reclaiming my Self. The journey to mental health and wellness has expanded to include many holistic practices and rituals over the years and I use them as self healing medicine when I start to feel anxiety or fear of the unknown creep back in. It also happens to be a lot of what I’ve become educated in to provide for you aside from acupuncture and massage.

We are all on this journey together. We are all here to be human and to evolve in joy, light, and love.

Here are 10 ways I personally use to holistically self-care to help on those off days:

  1. Yoga: Yoga connects us to our bodies and our breath. This amazing practice helps us radically shift the energy within our body, mind, and spirit. You can do yoga at home and I encourage you to if you are not going to gyms or studios right now. Even doing a few poses a day can be life changing.
  2. Meditation: Meditation can come in many forms whether it’s through seated practice or movement. Finding what works for you is key. I love my daily seated practice and then find it helps me create a meditation practice out of anything I do when I am present to it.
  3. Prayer, Intention Setting, Surrendering: Whatever your beliefs, where intention goes, energy flows. I enjoy praying throughout the day and have a longer practice in the morning and evening. I enjoy setting the intention for the day by continually coming back to the feeling of love, which I often cultivate by thinking about someone or something that brings me a lot of love, easily (For me that’s always my daughter.) I enjoy surrendering the negative feelings or worries to Divine as they arise and returning the feeling of love.
  4. Qigong and other forms of martial arts: I have been practicing Qigong more regularly lately and I have been doing various forms of martial arts for years. Qigong is an ancient practice that has been just incredible to begin the day with lately.
  5. Nutrition: Eating food like it’s medicine for my optimal well-being is key. I eat and drink foods and beverages intuitively in this way. For me, eating a majority vegetarian diet is what makes ME feel good and I know it’s different for everyone. Even if I am having one of those cheat meals, I bless up my food. I give thanks and energy to everything I ingest. In the documentary Superhuman they demonstrate how the energy that we send into water molecules can change them!! We can absolutely enliven our food, and make it sacred.
  6. Have uplifting conversations with your community: I talk to positive people every DAY. Everyday. It’s important to surround yourself with people who inspire you to be your best self and love you unconditionally for who you are.
  7. Acupressure: Here are few I enjoy for anxiety: https://www.healthline.com/health/pressure-points-for-anxiety#heavenly-gate
  8. Reiki, Shamanic, and Energy Healing: I am a conduit for energy work with my clients and I receive energy work from trusted practitioners on a regular basis.
  9. Salt bath: Epsom salt baths with lavender essential oils are something I love doing at least once a week. In energy medicine it’s said that it can help to move old energy or qi out of your system.
  10. Nature: No matter where I am in the world, being in nature on a daily basis is 100% one of the most important things I do for my sense of well being. If you know me well, you know that I love being in the water, surfing or paddle boarding. If I can’t make it to the water, I am in a forest with my daughter hiking.

Plant Based Sweet Potato & Kale Burrito

April 23, 2020 //  by Alana Roach//  Leave a Comment

This burrito is delicious and super simple to make.  I’ve spent a lot of time traveling Central and South America, exploring their cultures as I host yoga + surf retreats.  I am a foodie.  I love trying new foods in different places and then adapting those recipes to fit my lifestyle and preferences when I come home.

While I LOVE bean burritos, sometimes beans cause inflammation in my gut so while we are going through this Spring season where our bodies are naturally detoxing in our liver and kidneys especially (See Ayurveda Nutrition), I decided to create this masterpiece with some alternatives.

This burrito contains sweet potatoes and kale, which can benefit your gut health and may support healthy vision, immune system, and brain functioning (Plus way more!  I encourage you to read up on these superfoods in your spare time! They are INCREDIBLE!)

Sweet potatoes are naturally rich in:

  • Vitamin A
  • Vitamin C
  • Maganese
  • Potassium
  • Fiber
  • Niacin
  • Copper

While kale is naturally rich in:

  • Vitamin C
  • Vitamin B6
  • Manganese
  • Vitamin A
  • Vitamin K
  • Potassium
  • Copper

I always feel better knowing that I am feeding my body temple with great foods, made by my loving hands, with food I could growing right in my back yard and not harm a single being doing it.

If you are vegan, take off the sheep’s goat cheese, please, and thank you.

I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I do and please feel free to leave you favorite, healthy vegetarian or vegan recipes in the comments below!!  We have a lot of time to cook ourselves delicious and healthy meals right now!  Let’s all inspire each other to use this time wisely and maintain our mind + body connection and health!

This recipe will yield 2-4 burritos depending on their size!

Feel free to save this recipe card & enjoy!!

If you have any more nutrition questions, feel free to email me at Explorationsofself@Gmail.com!

You can also book your 15 minute free Lifestyle Consult with me here.

I would love to work 1 on 1 with you remotely to get you feeling amazing mentally, physically, and spiritually!  I combine nutrition coaching with yoga and dharma teaching to suit your lifestyle with an option to add on business coaching for a total lifestyle up-level and shift.

Life your JOY, always.  It’s your birthright.

Using Your Menstrual Cycle as a Guide to Success

January 30, 2020 //  by Alana Roach//  1 Comment

Yes.  I’ve said it.  Your menstrual cycle.  A guide to success.  I call it a Moon Cycle and it is your super power. Ever since I  started looking into the moon phases a decade ago, I noticed my periods aligned with New or Full Moons almost always.  I’ve talked to MANY women about their moon cycles and they can concur.  Women are in sync with the moon and this synchronization is a creative force.

Dr Christiane Northup noted:

Studies have shown that peak rates of conception and probably ovulation appear to occur at the full moon or the day before.

During the new moon, ovulation and conception rates are decreased overall, and an increased number of women start their menstrual bleeding. Scientific research has documented that the moon rules the flow of fluids (ocean tides as well as individual body fluids) and affects the unconscious mind and dreams.1

The timing of the menstrual cycle, the fertility cycle, and labor also follows the moon-dominated tides of the ocean. Environmental cues such as light, the moon, and the tides play a documented role in regulating women’s menstrual cycles and fertility.

In one study of nearly two thousand women with irregular menstrual cycles, more than half of the subjects achieved regular menstrual cycles of twenty-nine days’ length by sleeping with a light on near their beds during the three days around ovulation.2

We, as a culture,  often overlook our menstrual cycles as just one of those things that just happen.  I am often surprised about the lack of conversation within communities of women on this topic.  We need to re-claim our bodies as powerful, sovereign, MAGICAL, creative life forces.

I noticed long ago that my cycles were important for cleansing, creating, restoring, and balancing.  Our menstrual cycles are a gift.  They not only give us an opportunity to create an actual life, but also give us a huge opportunity to create life to our dream life.

If you do not know your cycle, there are so many great apps to help with that.  I use the Flo App and it’s free!

Follicular phase

The phase that happens right after your period.  During this phase you start to feel more alive and energetic.  This is a great time to start new projects, make new connections, be creative, be in front of the camera, write, and travel for business.   You will enjoy being around people and connecting with others at this time so take advantage of your outgoing nature!  I will often take on a little bit more during this time because I know I have the energy to manage it.

Ovulation

During your ovulation phase you will feel most likely feel magical.  People are attracted to you more than ever.  Schedule business meetings with people who have possibly been on the fence.  Get into receptive mode.  The more you can just allow the abundance to find you, the better.  This is a great time to ask The Universe to bring you people that you can help with ease.

Luteal Phase

During this phase we will want to slow down. Give yourself this time.  Don’t take as many appts.  Do less.  Self care more.  This is a time to allow all of the work that you have done earlier in your cycle to incubate.  There is an incredible intelligence at work here within our mind, body, and spirit.  Trust yourself.

Dr. Christiane Northup also states that:

“Women, too, go through a period of darkness each month, when the life-force may seem to disappear for a while (premenstrual and menstrual phases).4 We need not be afraid or think we are sick if our energies and moods naturally ebb for a few days each month. In many parts of India, it’s perfectly acceptable for women to slow down during their periods and rest more.

I have come to see that all kinds of stress-related disease, ranging from PMS to osteoporosis, could be lessened a great deal if we simply followed our body’s wisdom once per month.”

Menstruation

Our body is cleansing at this time.  In the Ashtanga Yoga tradition, women do not practice yoga for the first 3 days of menstruation.  They honor their bodies and the apana (Downward flowing energies.)  This is a time of transformation.  Energy that we have taken on or emotions that we have possibly shoved down away from the surface are released.  This is a great time to meditate, journal, take baths, get a massage, rest, organize and clean if there’s natural energy for that.  If there’s anything that didn’t quite feel right in your business this month, now is the time to release it and let go.

We should be celebrating our Moon Cycles. There is great MAGIC in it!  We are very blessed.  We are creative forces.  If our cycles can literally create a life,  why wouldn’t our cycles be able to create limitless possibility in every area of our life?

If you are experiencing difficulties with your cycle or would like 1 on 1 life coaching for a particular area in your life, go here to schedule your free 15 minute consult!

With love,

Alana

5 Ways to Prevent Burnout

January 17, 2020 //  by Alana Roach//  Leave a Comment

It’s so easy to make up excuses when it comes to self-care. You could spend your whole day thinking about your desire to take it easy, or the need for a break, but you keep putting it off, putting everything and everyone else first. The next thing you know it, you’re running on empty, tired and run down. You feel like you’ve been here before… well… because you have.

What’s the pattern here? Where are you negotiating with your self about your true needs? Are you allowing others to run your day, job, schedule?

There’s always a way to find time to tend to the self. We need to put our self first or we will inevitably face burn out.

I have encountered burn out more times than I am willing to admit along my path. I get better at recognizing the signs now. The journey is always coming home to the self with love and care.

Some signs you may be on the verge of burn-out.

  • Irritability
  • Anxiousness
  • Poor sleep
  • Lack of concentration, motivation, and inspiration
  • Sadness
  • Feelings of overwhelm
  • Body imbalances (Aches, injuries, anything that starts to flare up and effects your physical health. As always, consult your doctor if there is a concern!)

There is always something to learn from your moments of imbalance.

“If you wait until you are sick before you begin to try to focus more positively, it is much harder than if you begin to tell the story of Well-Being from your place of feeling good…but, in any case, your new story will, in time, bring you different results. That which is like unto itself, is drawn – so tell the story you want to live and you will eventually live it.” -Abraham Hicks

Life is a journey. A  journey that I, for one, would not ever want to miss. Being out of balance can be a delight because I am then reminded to revise my thoughts and actions to live in a better way.

5 Ways to Prevent Burnout

1. Self Care: Spend time in nature, do an Ayurvedic or superfoods cleanse (Always consult with your doctor before making radical changes to your diet, especially when there are underlying medical conditions) take slow walks, take a nap, deeper breaths, do more yoga, do less talking, read a book, be still, get more massages, laugh more, love more, worry less.

2. Positive Thinking: Shift your negative thoughts to thoughts of gratitude and appreciation. It can make all the difference. Perception is everything. You can think your way into a prison or you can think your way into freedom. Which do you choose? I love the poem “All the Hemispehres,”  by Hafez as he illustrates it so well…

All the Hemispheres

Leave the familiar for a while.
Let your senses and bodies stretch out

Like a welcomed season
Onto the meadows and shores and hills.

Open up to the Roof.
Make a new water-mark on your excitement
And love.

Like a blooming night flower,
Bestow your vital fragrance of happiness
And giving
Upon our intimate assembly.

Change rooms in your mind for a day.

All the hemispheres in existence
Lie beside an equator
In your heart.

Greet Yourself
In your thousand other forms
As you mount the hidden tide and travel
Back home.

All the hemispheres in heaven
Are sitting around a fire
Chatting

While stitching themselves together
Into the Great Circle inside of
You. ~ Hafez

3.Vacation: Even if it’s a couple of days, take time to respite.

A pause from your daily routine is necessary to reset and regain inspiration. If you simply can’t make time for a mini respite this month, ask yourself what sort of things you would be doing on that retreat. Would it be a spa day? A long walk? A healthy meal with wonderful company? I asked myself this a couple of years ago and started to implement vacation like practices in my day to day life by getting regular acupuncture, massages, taking long baths, electronics fasting, and long walks in nature, and it has made all the difference. If you are looking to schedule f a 9 day relaxing journey this September 12-20, 2020, Join me in Bali for a decadent Yoga & Meditation Escape.

 4. Clear your schedule:

Make a list of everything you’re investing your energy in.

Also, know that it’s ok to say NO to that dinner party on Thursday night if you don’t really want to go. Allow your calendar to have to space to breathe. Some of the best experiences I have ever had were when I had not scheduled them. They happened because I created space for The Universe to deliver an experience. Now ask yourself: If I only had 6 months to live, what would I be doing? Gaining perspective on what truly matters will help you, overtime, refine your priorities. If there are things you can immediately shift and let go of, ask yourself: Why am I holding on to this? If it’s a career shift or something that may take time to shift, ask the Universe to provide you with clarity on how to make this attainable. Make a list of tiny steps you can take daily towards this great vision. In the mean time, know that everything you are doing is contributing to the bigger picture.

5. Receive:

A lot of really talented, genuinely good, capable people can have one fault.

They are great at creatingopportunities, getting things done, and taking care of others. However, when it comes to receiving, they have a major block. If that’s you… listen. From my own experience here. It takes a village. It just does. Every single person you see out there thriving has a team. Allow yourself to receive support and love from your community. Allow yourself to receive love and support from your Creator. The Universe yearns to provide for you. It will come in many forms when you allow it to come in. Practicing receiving. The next time someone gives you a compliment, say, “Thank you,” and breathe that compliment in. The next time someone wants to help you with your groceries to your car say, “Ok.” Allow. You deserve support, everyone does. The smallest acts of allowing can make huge differences in your life.

Take care of yourself. Remember that self-care should be your 1st priority. Your capacity to give will increase naturally when you give yourself the LOVE that you so deserve.

If you are looking for a lifestyle change and need support, I work 1 on 1 with people to help you improve balance and joy in any area of your life. A Shamanic Guide to January 2020’s Full Moon Lunar Eclipse

January 9, 2020 //  by Alana Roach//  Leave a Comment

This Full Moon Lunar Eclipse is re-calibrating and uplifting our heart chakra center as it is in the sun sign of Cancer which governs this energy center & our emotional body.

I had some lucid dreams as a child as well; dreams that I remember to this day, but ever since I started a daily meditation practice, my dreams have become incredibly vivid, especially around the New and Full Moon.

Dreaming led me on the path of Shamanism around the same time I started meditation, where I discovered, “Shamanic Dreaming.”

Tribal shamans took dreams seriously, working with their own dreams as well as those reported by members of their tribes. Various tribes interpreted dreams differently; for members of the Mohave tribe, dreams were sources of knowledge and messages from the Great Spirit, while the Iroquois Indians saw dreams as “wishes of the soul.” ~Corrosion Doctors

I have been led through a maze of Shamanic rituals from various traditions ever since I started really paying attention to my Full Moon dreams. Perhaps you have, too. These dreams hold great messages.

I had synchronicities surrounding this heart dream the day of the dream and the day after in my waking reality. I later found out that the sign of Cancer is all about the heart chakra. My dream this month was all about the heart. No surprise, right? Yet, I am always surprised, because I get so excited about these miracles!

Experiences like this happen to me all the time. They are so common for me these days that I don’t even question it anymore. They are experiences that hold so much wisdom. I pay attention. I trust that the Universe is gently guiding me in all moments, and the sooner I pay attention, the more joy I will experience in life.

The moon cycles work closely with Spirit to guide us into a deeper awareness of our I Am Presence.

Ascended Master Saint Germain, believed by those adherent to the Ascended Master Teachings to have previously been embodied as Plato, Proclus, Roger Bacon, Francis Bacon, and numerous others, was quoted as saying:

“When one individualizes within the Absolute, All-Pervading Life, he chooses of his own free will to become an intensified individual focus of Self-Conscious Intelligence. He is the conscious director of his future activities. Thus, having once made his choice, he is the only one who can fulfill that Destiny — which is not inflexible circumstance but a definitely designed Plan of Perfection.” [13] When You, the ‘Mighty I AM Presence,’ will to come forth into an Individualized Focus of Conscious Dominion and use the Creative Word, ‘I AM,’ Your First Individual Activity is the Formation of a Flame. Then you, the ‘Individualized Focus’ of the ‘Mighty I AM Presence,’ begin your Dynamic Expression of Life. This Activity, We term Self-consciousness, meaning the Individual who is conscious of his Source and Perfection of Life, expressing through himself.” [1] (Source)

The moon helps us to shed old patterns or belief systems that can make us feel disconnected from our Higher Self or I Am Presence. Remember that you are never truly disconnected from this Loving Presence. However, there are ways to attune your physical and mental body to become more and more in alignment with your divinity. This is why we are here! To tune into our Divinity and discover + share it with the world in our unique chasm.

Shamanic practices are an integral part of my personal healing practices to this day. Shamanic rituals that require nothing more than breath and awarenesses of the power that is pouring out of us at any given moment.

You are connecting to your inner shaman anytime you connect to the unseen realms of this Universe through presence of your breath, dreams, energies, elements in nature, and so on.

The healing of this Full Moon Lunar Eclipse is individualized for each of us. How can you know what The Universe is trying to tell you during this Full Moon Lunar Eclipse ?

Here are 3 steps to creating your own Shamanic Full Moon Ritual:

  1. Journal Your Dreams: Ask Divine to lovingly guide you in your dreams at the end of each day. Pay attention to your dreams all month long. Get a dream journal if you don’t have one already. Start writing down your dreams first thing in the morning. If you have a meditation practice you may be pleasantly surprised that dream recall may start to happen all throughout your day. As soon as a memory of your dream pops up, write it down. Take it as a message that you are meant to remember this. Don’t over analyze your dream, but DO write down what they mean to you. This will come in handy when designing your Full Moon Ritual.
  2. Self Care: What self-care regimes make you feel amazing? Is it a bath? Essential oils? Fresh pressed juice? Yoga? Dance? Massage? A walk in nature? All of these things? Great! The Full Moon energies are typically amplified 4 days before and 4 days after the Full Moon date. In the days leading up to and following the Full Moon, choose 1 or 2 of these self-care rituals and write them down in your planner. Create time for these as these are very important for your unique ritual. Taking care of our physical and emotional body is an important way to clear out psychic debris so that you can feel the PRESENCE of Your Creator.
  3. Get into the Receptive State: The Universe is always sending us loving guidance and wisdom!!! On the day of the Full Moon, thank The Universe for revealing potent wisdom for your loving benefit at this powerful time. Ask that you be shown clarity about your dreams and any other loving knowledge that will help you step into your Divine Purpose and Align with all of the LOVE that IS during this Full Moon ritual. Take a few moments in silence to listen to The Universe. Write down what is shared. Do not fret if you don’t get a sense for what it is. Sometimes God will show up through other people through out the day, a song, a certain quote that pops out to you while you are reading your favorite blog. Pay attention throughout your day with a soft, receptive, and playful energy. Trust the guidance that you are being given!!

These 3 simple steps will help you embody you practice your own unique Full Moon ritual. It doesn’t need to make sense to anyone else but you, just go with your inner LOVING guidance and more will be revealed!

–

For example:

My dreams have been about relationships, specifically close relationships, and my heart. While noting this, I have been preparing my body and mind temple to receive the healing with daily self care rituals in the days leading up to the full moon. I have been praying and meditating every morning, doing at least an hour of yoga every day, and taking candle lit, essential oil infused, bubble baths at night. I have been asking God to reveal to me the wisdom being shared in my dreams and asking how I can step into full alignment of my Divine Purpose during my morning prayer and meditation. The reveal? I have been gracefully led to an abundance ritual that involves journaling, affirmations, and service. I have had 2 past students reach out to me seemingly random with potent information for me. Both of them said that I have been on their mind a lot lately, and one even had a vivid Shamanic dream about me. She called it a, “Manifestation Dream,” and had specific advice for me to apply to my business. This excites me!!! That’s how you know it is meant for YOU! Does it excite you? Does it make you joy-filled and inspired? That’s God speaking to you. That’s your Full Moon Ritual.

Remember, the more consistent you are with daily prayer and meditation, the more you open yourself up to miracles from The Universe.

The Universe is always sending us LOVE and guidance. Are you paying attention?

Wish Granted, Now What?

January 7, 2020 //  by Alana Roach//  Leave a Comment

Your wish is granted.

You are incredibly loved and adored.

You are abundant and experience abundance in all forms.

You are radiance like sunshine.

You are remarkably talented and easily express your unique creative genius.

You are effervescent like the lunar glow.

You are incredibly intelligent and wise beyond measure.

You are JOY embodied.

Now what?

Where do you go from here?

You have been whole your entire existence.

Now that you realize this, what do you choose to spend your time on? What are you dwelling on? Who do you spend time with? What do you think about when you are alone? What expression do you wear on your avatar? Who’s life do you touch? What words do you speak.

What wishes are you granting?

Divine One,

You are the one you have been waiting for.

You are what you seek.

Rejoice in your brilliance.

Be present with your Creator.

The breezes at dawn have secrets to tell you
Don’t go back to sleep! ~Rumi

Meet Alana

Alana’s love for yoga came from firsthand experience with just how powerful the practice is. “In 2009, Yoga found me. Inside the studio, she experienced a deep sense of belonging, but the most profound part was what happened after. “I felt as though I was at true peace. I finally knew what the word meant. Until that moment, I had just understood it cerebrally. There is something profound to be said about Peace dropping into the heart.” Read More
